myView Login Information
As a registered student you have access to our myView website and have been issued a Grand View e-mail address. Access to myView and e-mail is provided within several days of registration for classes at Grand View. The myView web site provides a single point of access to your e-mail, course schedules, grades and other electronic resources.
You may access the myView web site at https://myView.grandview.edu. You will need to enter your myView username and password in order to access the myView site.

Your password is the four digits of your birth year and last four digits of your social security number (i.e. 19891234)

If you are an international student your password is your date of birth in mmddyyyy format (i.e. 01011990)
Please note that the first name may also be a nickname you asked GV to use (i.e. Chris instead of Christopher). Additionally, if your first name and last name is over 20 letters long your login may be the first initial of your first name instead of your full first name (i.e. s.smithsonian).
If you’ve tried several combinations of the username and cannot login please contact Eric Link, LAN Administrator, at elink@grandview.edu or at 515-263-2945.

If you have difficulty access myView check the following items:

If you use AOL, make sure you DO NOT use the AOL browser. Please use an alternative browser such as Internet Explorer, Firefox or Safari.

If using Windows 2000 you will be asked for a domain. Please enter AD as the domain.

Your username may have been created with your nickname (i.e. Bob instead of Robert).

E-mail
A Grand View e-mail address is provided for all current GV students, faculty and staff. Along with access to myView your e-mail access will be available within a few days of registering for classes at Grand View.
It is important for you to check your Grand View e-mail account often, as e-mail is a commonly used source of communication within the campus community.
To access your e-mail:
- Login to myView
- The myView Mail link on the right hand side
- Click on the number of unread messages to launch Outlook Web Access (OWA) in a new window
Your e-mail address is*: firstname.lastname@grandview.edu
* Please note that your e-mail address is the same as your login to myView.

Computer Lab Access & Network Storage Space
As a Grand View student you have access to computer labs across campus. Please see Computer Lab Locations & Details (login to myView required) for information on where the computer labs are and the technology within each lab.
To access the computers in the labs you will need to know your myView username and password. Details are provided at myView Login Information.
In addition to computer lab access you will be allowed up to 500MB of network space and will have access to these documents from any lab computer on campus.
Your personal network space Windows operating systems is the My Documents folder and on Macintosh computers it is the StuFiles folder.

Blackboard Access
Some classes at Grand View University use Blackboard, a web based tool to help enhance class instruction. Your instructor will let you know if Blackboard is being used for a course.
You may access Blackboard at http://blackboard.grandview.edu.
If you are registered for a course that will be using Blackboard your login information will be:

Viewing your Schedule & Grades - myTools
Through the myTools functionality of myView you can access your schedule, search for classes for future semesters, view grades and transcripts

Bud’s List – Free On-line Classifieds for the GV Community
Bud’s List is Grand View’s free classified system that is part of myView. Members of the community can list items for sale, give away items, post items they are searching for, post local events of interest, post and look for jobs and many other classifieds type listings.
To access Bud’s List:
Categories are listed on the front page along with tutorials on how to list items and “watch” for items as they become available. Please be aware of the Terms & Conditions and list of restricted items. If any item listing violates these policies they will be removed from Bud’s List.

Telephone Service & Long Distance
All residence hall rooms have phones available for student use to make local calls and receive calls.
If you have problems with the phone in your campus room phone please contact Neil Olson at nolson@grandview.edu or at 515-263-2961.
Long distance calling is not available through the campus phone system without a calling card.

Grand View provides web space if you would like to create a personal web page. Your site will be accessible via the Internet so please be mindful of what you upload to your site. Grand View is not responsible for inappropriate content and reserves the right to delete such content at any time.

Smartphone E-mail Access
If you have a Smartphone compatible with Microsoft Exchange and have a data plan from your wireless carrier you may be able to sync with the myView e-mail system.
The server address setting is: https://owa.grandview.edu
Please seek help from your cell phone carrier if you have problems setting up the smartphone access.
