Summer Learning Clinic (Academic & Social Skills) grades 1-5

The Grand View Summer Learning Clinic is designed for students with academic and/or social challenges to prepare them for the upcoming school year by refreshing students’ reading, writing, math and/or social skills.  Students in the academic clinic will be assessed and provided with instruction at their academic level and will work specifically on individual needs.

Students in the social skills clinic will be assessed on social skills instructional areas and will be engaged in social skill instruction, games, and activities with peers. The assessment and instruction will be provided by Grand View pre-service teachers under the guidance of a special education-certified teacher/assistant professor.

We offer two clinics at a cost of $10/each or both for $15 for the same child.  Financial support is available by contacting program director. Students need to attend every day and will be provided a snack. No clinic on Saturday or Sunday.

Academic Clinic
June 30 - July 10: 9:00 - 11:00 a.m.

Social Skills Clinic
June 30 - July 10: 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.

While at camp your children will:

  • Be assessed in areas they may struggle.
  • Learn in a small group or individual setting through direct instruction, activities and games.
  • Have fun with their college instructor through games, group activities and every kid’s favorite… snacks!

Parents will be provided with daily reports on their child’s progress. By the end of camp, your child will have academic and social strategies ready to go for the school year!
