Dancing at Lughnasa by Brian Friel
October 15, 16, 17 at 7:30 p.m.
October 18 at 2:00 p.m.

Set in a small village in Ireland in 1936, and centering around five unmarried sisters trying to eke out a living in a rapidly changing world, this vibrant and beautiful play is told through the memories of the young illegitimate son, Michael, as he paints a picture of the colorful maiden aunts who raised him. We meet them at the intersection of the festival of Lughnasa (a pagan festival which celebrates the god of the harvest with wild dancing, drinking and revelry), the return of Michael’s uncle from a 25 year mission in a Ugandan leper colony, and a visit from his errant drifter/dancer father.
