GV Interns: Employer Perspective

Grand View has the advantage of being able to develop strong relationships with metro area businesses.  We're able to connect our students with internship opportunities not far from campus, which has proved to be beneficial for the students and the employers.

Dont just take our word for it; check out what some of our employer partners have to say about GV interns!

The internship program we have with Grand View benefits both the students and our organization.  The skills and creativity brought to us by the students allow us to develop more creative materials that are also very professional.  The interns are an integral component of our program team.  We have high expectations for them, and they deliver.

Not only is it worthwhile for the students you bring into your workplace, but it's a growth experience for you and your department as well.  Teaching students your industry and business is not only rewarding, it also helps you also seek out great candidates for future openings who truly know and enjoy your business.

Katie Johnson, Human Resources Manager
Iowa Events Center

Internships are a benefit not only to the students, but to any organization.  I think some agencies don’t offer internships because they feel that they don’t have the time to get an intern started.  It does take a lot of time to orient them and train them, but once they get going they are very self-sufficient and extremely helpful.  Having different interns every semester brings new people and ideas into our program to benefit our clients and our staff.

“The students from Grand View were well prepared coming into their internship which is a tribute to the University.  They demonstrated a great work ethic, a willingness to learn and leadership qualities.”
