Grand View makes available a wide variety of scholarships for students.  We invite you to explore the options here.  Some scholarships require a special application, while other awards may be part of your financial aid package based on your academic achievements. Please contact the Admissions Office with questions about a specific scholarship.

Matching Scholarships

Certain scholarships that students bring with them to Grand View from an outside source are matched.  Grand View is proud to be collegiate partnerships with these programs and to expand student’s resources to money that does not need to be paid back.

$500 Match
Dollars for Scholars: Dollars for Scholars affiliates help hometown students achieve their educational goals by raising scholarship funds, establishing endowments, providing assistance with college readiness and the financial aid process, and distributing scholarships each year. Most area high schools have a Dollars for Scholars chapter. Grand View matches up to $500 awarded by these affiliates. http://scholarshipamerica.org/about_dfs.php 

EPIC Lutheran Congregational Scholarship (Details HERE)

Horatio Alger Scholarship: The Horatio Alger Association awards more than $10 million in college scholarships each year to students who have faced adversity. Scholarships are awarded through National, State, Canadian, Specialized, and Graduate Programs. Grand View University will match up to $500 each academic year.  Please visit their website for a full list of scholarship opportunities at https://www.horatioalger.org/

James B. Morris Scholarship: The James B. Morris Scholarship Fund (MSF) provides financial assistance, motivation and internship opportunities for Iowa’s minority students pursuing post-secondary and graduate degrees. The MSF provides this assistance to high-achieving individuals who demonstrate strong academic performance, community service and a need for financial aid. Grand View University will match up to $500 each academic year.  http://www.morrisscholarship.org/

$1,000 Match
East High Alumni Foundation Scholarship Matching Program: Grand View will match an East High Alumni Foundation scholarship for a student attending Grand View up to $1,000 for a maximum of four years.  The match for the first year will be credited to the student’s account when the East High Alumni Foundation scholarship is received.  Grand View will renew the matching award for the sophomore, junior and senior years as long as the student maintains a minimum of a 2.5 cumulative grade point average.

North High School Polar Bear Scholarship Fund Matching Program: Beginning with the 2016-2017 academic year, Grand View will match a Polar Bear Scholarship Fund scholarship for a student attending Grand View up to $1,000 for a maximum of four years.  The match for the first year will be credited to the student’s account when the Polar Bear fund is received.  Grand View will renew the matching award for the sophomore, junior and senior years as long as the student maintains a minimum of a 2.5 cumulative grade point average.

Variable Match
Sage Scholars Tuition Rewards: Certain employers, financial advisors, insurance companies, banks and other organizations make this program available to employees and/or customers. Grand View participates in the Sage Scholars Tuition Rewards program, through which you can accumulate points that then translate into Grand View aid.  More information is available HERE.

Presidential Ambassador

By invitation for incoming freshmen who qualify for a Presidential Scholarship

Think you might qualify to compete for a Presidential Scholarship?  (Check out the link to the Scholarship Calculator below.) If so, you may have an additional opportunity!

All Presidential Scholarship competitors will be considered for invitation to participate in The Presidential Ambassador program.

The students chosen will display and develop leadership skills through meetings and personal interactions with Grand View president Kent Henning and the Grand View Board of Trustees. They will be involved as participants in various activities and seminars both on and off campus, and will get acquainted with community leaders in the Des Moines area.

Through the Presidential Ambassador program, participants will make connections and hone abilities that will serve them throughout their careers.
