Meet the View Crew

The View Crew creates belonging for new students during their transition to Grand View. Their goal is to keep new students excited about attending Grand View. They provide campus tours and are available to answer any questions or concerns. The View Crew wants new students to see Grand View as a home away from home.

Lindsay Albert
Hi! My name is Lindsay Albert and I'm from Eldon, Iowa.  I'm a sophomore majoring in elementary education and I also run track for the Vikings.  I came to GV because of the size of the campus and classes.  One fun fact about me, I own 47 sundresses.  Can't wait to show you what GV is all about!  I’m always around to answer any questions.

Emily Blum
My name is Emily Blum and I’m a sophomore nursing major.  I am on the volleyball team and Team GV, as well as View Crew.  I’m from Glenwood, Iowa, and have a cross-eyed dog.  My hobbies include my family and friends, and I hope to become a pediatric nurse practitioner.  If you have any questions, feel free to ask me.

Nate Botts
Hi, my name is Nate Botts and I'm from Pleasant Hill, Iowa.  I'm a junior, business management and human resources major.  I plan to own and operate a successful Mexican restaurant one day.  In my free time I like to play Call of Duty.  I'm involved with View Crew, Team GV, and Student Leadership Team.  I once broke my arm skateboarding...never tried that again.  Welcome to GV!  If you have any questions, I'm here to help.

Hayley Ellis
Hey everyone!  My name is Hayley and I’m from Shenandoah, Iowa.  I’m a junior double major in history and secondary education, with minors in LOGOS honors and political studies.  After GV, I hope to teach high school government or US history, and one day I plan to have a Ph.D. in either history or education.  I’m involved with Presidential Ambassadors, the LOGOS Honors program, History Club, Education Club, Viking Volunteers, View Crew and I’m the Team Leader of Student Leadership Team.  I love hanging out and watching movies and partaking in a thing my friends and I call “Cultural Capitol Wednesday” where we take in cultural experiences throughout the city.  A fun fact about me – I can quote nearly every line in the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone movie.  Welcome to Grand View and if you have any questions please feel free to ask me.

Trisha Griffin
Hi there.  I am Trisha Griffin from Laurens, Iowa (small town near Spencer).  I am a junior studying biology in hopes of becoming a physical therapist after graduate school – fingers crossed for DMU!  Along with View Crew, I am also involved with GV United, which works with alumni and events.  With my free time I enjoy escaping the college reality world through movies, especially Disney movies.  I also enjoy running, playing volleyball, and hanging out with friends.  An interesting fact about me is that I have donated my hair five times.  I hope you take advantage of all GV has to offer you!  Welcome, and make this college experience unforgettable.

Jessica Hagerty
Hey all, welcome to Grand View!  My name is Jess Haggerty and I’m from Urbandale, Iowa.  I am a junior pursuing a double major in psychology and human services, with a certificate in art therapy.  I am involved with Peer Counseling, as well as View Crew.  When I’m not at school or work, I love to watch movies, paint and draw.  In the future, I hope to pursue a career in art therapy or occupational therapy.  An interesting fact about me is that I am incredibly graceful; I once dislocated my knee stepping in a puddle.  Can't wait to get to know you during the years to come!

Grant Henderson
Hi, I'm Grant Henderson, a sophomore and a red shirt freshman in wrestling.  I am majoring in criminal justice with a minor in coaching.  Along with wrestling and View Crew, I am also on Team GV.  One interesting fact about me is that I built my motorcycle with my dad.  Some hobbies include riding my motorcycle, frisbee golf, ultimate frisbee, fishing, boating, basically anything outside, and long walks on the beach.  My future goal is to be a head coach for a college wrestling program.  I look forward to getting to know you, and if you have any questions come find me.

Dani Hubbard
Hi, my name is Dani Hubbard.  My hometown is Van Meter, Iowa, and I'm a junior public relations major.  I'm also on the softball team!  I love hanging out with my friends and singing to any and every Bruno Mars song.  My future goal is to win the lottery and travel the world…but if that doesn't happen I would love to work in PR for an MLB team.  I look forward to meeting and getting to know each of you.

Nathan Johnston
My name is Nathan Johnston, and I will be a sophomore.  I’m from Carroll, Iowa, and I’m a criminal justice major, with minors in psychology and sociology.  Interesting facts about me are that I am a twin and dislike most milk products.  My goals are to graduate from college, get married, and become a sheriff’s deputy!  In my free time I like to hunt and fish.  I am on the track and field team, as well as View Crew.  Feel free to ask me any questions you may have.

Sam Krones
My name is Sam Krones.  I’m from Osage, Iowa, and a senior majoring in biology with a minor in Spanish.  After graduation I plan to attend graduate school to become a physician’s assistant.  I am involved with Student Activities Council and Biology Club, as well as View Crew.  I enjoy hanging out with my friends and fishing.  A fun fact about me is that my favorite sports team is the Green Bay Packers.  Welcome to GV!

Kylie Lamb
Hi, my name is Kylie Lamb.  I am a sophomore majoring in elementary education with an endorsement in special ed.  I’m from Newton and I’m involved in View Crew and Viking Council – I have also been on SAC.  I plan to either get a teaching job after GV, or get my master's degree before beginning my career.  I love to read, watch movies, and have fun with friends    A fun fact about me is that I once stood ten feet away from a grizzly bear…with no fence in between!

Lauren Lightner
Hey, I'm Lauren!  I’m a senior biology major pursuing my dream of going to medical school (hopefully DMU).  I enjoy playing tennis and singing around my apartment...although I'm not vocally talented.  A fun fact about me is that my fingers are doubling jointed and I can make them look broken...feel free to ask me about it!  I can't wait to meet you!

Hi my name is Theresa Macdonald and I’m a graphic journalism, mass communication and photography senior.  I am from Des Moines and I’m involved in many campus activities including, the GV newspaper, the bowling team, Viking Volunteers, and the Writing Center.  I enjoy hanging out with my friends and family, reading, unicorns, snowboarding and photography.  Some of my goals include working for a magazine, traveling the world, and bowling a 300.  Can’t wait to meet you!  Make sure to find me if you have any questions.

Laren Skulte
Hello!  My name is Laren Skulte and I’m a sophomore and GV cheerleader.  I am a nursing major with a psychology minor, and I hope to work in a neonatal unit when I graduate, or go on to be a genetics counselor.  I’m from Davenport, Iowa, and live only a few blocks from St. Ambrose University.  During the summer I am a camp counselor for the YMCA Camp Abe Lincoln program.  I am good friends with Frank from American Pickers on the History Channel – we enjoy spending holidays and family gatherings together.  Welcome to the Viking family!  If you have any questions, don’t be afraid to ask.

Hey everyone, I’m Ariel, a senior nursing major, born and raised in Des Moines.  Along with View Crew, I am also on Team GV.  Future goals include landing my dream job as a nurse and returning to school to earn my master’s degree.  My hobbies include shopping, fishing, and swimming.  A fun fact about me is that I love to cook and bake yummy goodies.  I’m so glad you have chosen GV and I’d loved to answer any questions you may have.

My name is Patrek Tufts and I’m from Bondurant, Iowa.  I’m a senior majoring in secondary education and applied math.  My hobbies include hunting, fishing, baseball, football and basketball, and I love the Iowa Hawkeyes.  I look forward to introducing you to GV.

Adam Walther
My name is Adam Walther.  I am a sophomore criminal justice major from Waverly, Iowa – formerly from Ontario, Canada.  Along with being on the View Crew, I am also on Team GV, Viking Brigade, and I wrestle for the three-time National Championship Viking Wrestling team.  I aspire to be a detective on the east coast and possibly a wrestling coach.  I like to joke about being from Canada and I enjoy being surrounded by my friends, wake boarding, tubing or anything on the water, especially long walks on the beach.  I recently had my left shoulder reconstructed so please don't hit me in the shoulder!  I look forward to meeting you and spending quality time over the next few years.
