One semi-professional hockey team, The Des Moines Buccaneers, The Iowa Cubs (Chicago Cubs AAA affiliate team), Des Moines Menace soccer, Barnstormers arena football and the Iowa Energy basketball team are all spectator opportunities. And of course all of the athletic events at Grand View! There are 5 disc golf courses in parks around the Metro and public bike trails spread around central Iowa. Des Moines’ Waveland Golf Course is the oldest public golf course west of the Mississippi River.
