Festivals in Des Moines
There are many festivals in Des Moines. Most of them take place in the spring, summer and fall but they offer many fun things to do and experience. The Arts Festival is every June and brings artists from around the country in just about every medium imaginable. Des Moines is home to the US Cellular World Food Fair in October, which is a display foods and entertainment from around the world. The Renaissance Faire is every September at Sleepy Hollow Sports Park. Every year there is a Latino Heritage Festival, Italian Fest and Asian Heritage Festival featuring native food, music and activities. The Iowa Fringe Festival, in Des Moines, features performing arts around the Metro area for four days, some film and some live. Winefest and Taste of Des Moines both feature local food and wineries products. Big Country Bash, Lazer Rock Fest, 80-35 Festival and Water Stock Rock are outdoor concerts held in the summer bringing national acts. And of course, one can’t forget the annual Iowa State Fair every August!
