You Can Have It All!

We all know that college is expensive.  That’s why you want to pick a college that gives you a lot of value for your money.

It’s common to think that if something costs more, it must be better.  But that isn’t always true!  At Grand View, you get the best of two worlds: a quality education for a modest price.  That’s value.

So what do you get?

  • Forty challenging academic majors, one that’s sure to fit your career goals.
  • An innovative core curriculum that will transform your life.
  • Small classes and personal attention from experienced faculty.
  • Hands-on classroom experiences and internship opportunities galore through Des Moines businesses and organizations.
  • Honors programs that will challenge you beyond what you thought possible.
  • Leadership programs and opportunities.
  • Opportunities to study abroad and for volunteer service.
  • Lots of options for living on campus – from traditional residence halls to suite-style living to student apartments.
  • All kinds of clubs, organizations and activities … everything from academic clubs to intramurals to student government and social organizations.
  • Championship athletics for men and women, including many nationally-ranked teams -- and TWO national championship teams -- with scholarships available for qualifying student-athletes.
  • Great facilities, from historic structures to brand-new state-of-the-art buildings and technology.
  • Support for enhancing your faith and spirituality through Campus Ministry.
  • A career you can thrive in.  For more than a decade and a half, almost 100% of Grand View graduates got jobs or went on to graduate school within 6 months of graduation.

Best of all you get a philosophy and an environment that helps you make the most of you! At Grand View you get an education that helps you develop as a whole person – mind, body and spirit.  You won't just go to classes. You'll be completely engaged in learning … in community … in service … and in discovering your own life purpose.  You’ll leave here a different person than when you arrived.

So how much does it cost?
Many students find that the cost of Grand View is comparable to a state university. After grants and scholarships, 77% of 2014 full-time, residential GV freshmen paid tuition, fees, and room & board that were comparable to or less than the published in-state prices at Iowa’s public universities.

Grand View’s tuition is also a lot less than most other private colleges and universities in the Midwest – in fact, about 16% less than the median for comparable Midwestern institutions of similar size.  Remember that what you and your family pay out-of-pocket looks like the graphic at the right.

The average financial assistance package for new first year students exceeds $22,800 with $15,000 in grants and scholarships and the remainder in loans and workstudy. And when you think about loans, which nearly all college students have these days, the higher the tuition, the more you’re likely to borrow.

In the Fall of 2015, all in-coming Grand View freshmen will experience the most innovative financing program in the country, one that will help you plan the financing of your whole degree and save you money on tuition and reduce your borrowing.  It's called the Financial Empowerment Plan.  You can find out more about it here.

So why not go for the least expensive choice?  Because your college education is the key to your future, a total experience that happens only once.  At Grand View, you’ll find a quality, comprehensive educational experience for a reasonable price.  That’s value.
