Central Campus Plaza

Plans have been approved to construct a central campus corridor and plaza in place of Grandview Avenue between E. 14th St. and E. 13th Street. The uiniversity purchased the street several years ago in anticipation of creating an inviting pedestrian walkway and gathering spot.

The walkway will empty onto the plaza, situated between the Rasmussen Center and the Library.

The centerpiece of the plaza is likely to be a sculpture of Grand View's logo mark.
|
Construction is scheduled to be complete by the time classes start in the fall of 2013. A dedication will follow.
Other projects include reconstructing and revamping the Viking Theatre; adding locker room space in the Johnson Wellness Center; transforming classrooms in Elings Science Hall to create more lab space; and building basketball courts over the detention pond west of Nielsen Hall.
