Zach Antle,
Co-Chair |
Hello, my name is Zach Antle. I am a junior double majoring in secondary education and applied mathematics at Grand View University. When I am not studying mathematics I enjoy playing my Playstation, hanging out with my family, and spending time with friends. My favorite Bible verse comes from a letter the apostle Paul wrote to the Philippians. Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through him who strengthens me."

Lizzy Feilmeier, Co-Chair |
I am Lizzy Feilmeier, a sophomore in the Arts Education and Studio Arts program. Along with student ministries, I'm also involved in the Grand View theatre, including being the treasurer for Grand View's chapter of Alpha Psi Omega, the National Honorary Theatre Society. I love to read and watch movies, as well as do crafts. I can easily find fun and enjoyment in all that I do. I love the way Student Ministries incorporates the arts into different events,, such as Mosaic (making the mosaic was awesome!), and street painting. My favorite Bible verse is Genesis 1:31—“And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.”

Rachel Menzel, Archivist |
Hi! My name is Rachel Menzel, and I’m a junior in the nursing program at Grand View. Besides writing long papers and spending lots of hours in the hospital, I love to spend my free time with my family and boyfriend! I love to knit, and I get addicted to TV shows very quickly. I love going to Mosaic on Wednesday nights because it takes my mind off of school and things that stress me out. It is a good way to reconnect with God and learn more about His plan for me. My favorite Bible verse is Joshua 1:9—“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Taler Grier, Sacristan |
My name is Taler Grier and I’m working on my second year here at Grand View University as a Biology Major. Within the last year, I have taken an interest in Student Ministries and now hold a position as Sacristan for the Tuesday Chapel services here on campus. Outside of school, I have a rather hectic schedule juggling working with individuals with brain injuries, as well as coaching at a local All-start gym Apex Athletics. I am also a member of the Iowa Army National Guard stationed out of Camp Dodge as a medic. Though very busy, I take time to get away to my favorite past time: the gym. Strongly interested in music and the arts, I also take every opportunity to attend shows in the Des Moines metro. Still, in all my craziness, I find time to make it to Chapel on campus and enjoy the worship section of chapel. I see it as a mini escape from the day. My favorite bible verse is Genesis 3:19 because it reminds me of the small role we play in the big picture of life: “By the sweat of your face you shall eat bread, till you return to the ground, for out of it you are taken; for you are dust, and to dust you shall return.” If you see me out and about on campus or at Chapel be sure to stop and say Hi!

Aaron Snethen, Communications |
Hi, I'm Aaron Snethen. I am a senior graphic design major. In my free time I enjoy working out, playing music, watching movies, as well as spending time with my friends and family. Student Ministries is great because it gives you a safe and comfortable environment to spend time with friends and other students that share a common faith. The activities are a blast as well. Also, Pastor Russ, Kate, and Angie are great! Don’t be a stranger! My favorite Bible verse in 1 John 3:18 "Let us not love with words or tongue, but with actions and in truth."

Rachel Dachenbach, Outreach |
Hey, all! I'm Rachel Dachenbach, a junior here at Grand View and I LOVE being involved in Student Ministries. I'm double majoring in Music and Elementary Education with a minor in Honors. Grand View has also given me opportunities to be involved in choir, band, Presidential Ambassadors, Phi Eta Sigma, and the Alpha Chi honor society. If you happen to find me anywhere but the music room or at my desk doing homework, I'm likely reading, drawing, doing word puzzles, playing piano and trumpet, or watching old episodes of "Whose Line is it, Anyway?" on YouTube. My favorite scripture is Psalm 19:1-4 "The heavens are telling the glory of God; and the firmament proclaims His handiwork. Day to day pours forth speech, and night to night declares knowledge. There is no speech, nor are there words; their voice is not heard; yet their voice goes out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world."

Jason Barnes, Viking Kids Club |
My name is Jason Barnes. I am a senior Religion Major. In my free time I enjoy watching the TV, being lazy, and am an avid sleeper. I also enjoy watching NFL, NBA, and MLB. I love Student Ministries because it is something I can escape to out of work and classes. My favorite activity has to be Mosaic because it is a student led band and is a very chill service- something different than your average Sunday service. There is also a lot of cool people there to talk to and a good place to find friends. Tuesday Chapel is also a favorite because it is the more traditional service where I can listen to a good message and sing hymns. Also having faculty and staff there is also very cool to see. My favorite verse is Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future."
