Community College Art Competition
An art & design competition for Iowa community college students. Compete to win cash prizes and a $5,000 scholarship in Art & Design at Grand View!
Here’s how it works:
Students should submit their best work of any flavor — traditional media or digital. This includes the entire smorgasbord of creative morsels- painting, drawing, photography, illustration — traditional or digital, graphic design for print or web. This would include brochures, logos, publication design, ad campaigns, web pages, apps. 3d work is welcome, as are sculpture, ceramics, and assemblage. Video and time arts are welcome, too.
Work should have been created during the time the student has been enrolled in community college but does not have to be a project created for a class.
Work can be submitted any time between October 1, 2013 and January 10, 2014.
All submissions are digital. Specifications:
Images should be in jpg format
No larger than 2MB
Horizontal format (if the image is an obvious vertical, center it in the horizontal frame with a nice black or white border)
Combine multiple views of the same piece into one image
Feel free to combine multiple pieces of a branding project or campaign into one image
Video should be posted on YouTube with the ID provided on the entry form.
Show us the cover and 2-3 representative spreads of a brochure or booklet
The competition will be judged by the Grand View University photography, art & design faculty, who will choose one Best of Show, two honorable mentions, and several jurors awards.
