Academic Strength
Grand View has 40 majors that lead to bachelor’s degrees and 180 faculty. Approximately 70% the full-time faculty have doctorates. The student-faculty ratio is 14:1, average class size is 16. The most popular programs are business, health sciences (nursing), education and the bio-sciences. While smaller than some of the other majors, art and graphic design are award-winning programs recognized in Iowa and nationwide.
The fact that Grand View graduates consistently get jobs right after graduation – and organizations hire them again and again – is testimony to the rigorous academic preparation they receive. For more than past decade and a half, nearly 100% of Grand View graduates found positions or entered graduate school within six months of graduation. How do we know? We call them – ALL of them. About a third of our alumni earn graduate degrees at some point in their careers.
