Q: How much do books cost per semester?
A: The cost of books depends on how many courses you take for the semester, which courses you take, and on whether you buy new books or used books, rent books, or purchase books from various non-campus outlets.
Q: What are the bookstore hours?
A: Monday-Thursday 8:15 am to 6:00 pm, Friday 8:15 am to 4:30 pm during the Fall and Spring Semester. During breaks, holidays and summer terms hours vary, please watch for notification of hours during those times.

Q: Where is the bookstore located?
A: The bookstore is located in the Student Center next to the Student Life Office and Stacks Deli.
Q: What types of payment does the bookstore accept?
A: We accept cash, personal check, MasterCard, Visa, Discover, American Express and GV Bookstore Gift Cards.
Q: Does the bookstore sell gift certificates?
A: Yes – you may purchase gift cards from any amount up to $500.00
Q: When are book buybacks held?
A: Buybacks are held during finals week of fall and spring semesters. Additional buybacks are scheduled throughout the year and will be announced.
Q: I am a student at the Camp Dodge campus, where do I buy my books?
A: Course materials for classes taught at Camp Dodge are available in store and on the Grand View Bookstore’s website (www.grandview.bkstr.com). Please contact Cheryl Koch at ckoch@grandview.edu or call 515-263-6134 if you would like to have your textbook delivered to Camp Dodge on the night your course begins.
Q: What is your return policy?
A: The return policy differs with the type of purchase:
General Refund Policy

Receipt required on all returns.

Purchases made on credit card or financial aid accounts will be refunded to the same account.

Purchases made by check must allow 10 days for the check to clear before a refund can be made.

Clearance merchandise sales are final.

All refunds subject to management discretion.
Textbook Refunds

The deadline for all textbook returns for refund is the Friday following the first day of your class session.

Textbooks must be in purchased condition. Refunds cannot be made for packaged course materials if the shrink wrap or seal is broken, damaged, or items are missing. Do not open any packaged course materials until you are certain you will be keeping them.

Syllabi and unsealed custom course packs are non-returnable. Sealed custom course packs are returnable but must be in original seal in order to be refunded.

Defective books and disks will be replaced or refunded at management discretion.

Textbooks purchased with a check will require a 10-day waiting period for the check to clear before a refund is given. However, the textbook must be brought in by the above return date to authorize the return.
Non-Textbook Refunds

Computer software is non-returnable after 1 week or if opened unless otherwise specified.

All other merchandise not listed above is returnable within 60 days of purchase if in original condition with receipt.
Q: What products does the bookstore offer?
A: The Bookstore offers all required textbooks, Grand View clothing and gifts, school and office supplies, art supplies, computer software and accessories, greeting cards, convenience food, nursing supplies and reference books.
Q: Does the Grand View Bookstore rent textbooks?
A: Yes, the Bookstore rents a number of textbook titles each semester. When you search for your course material on the Bookstore website (
www.grandview.bkstr.com), it will indicate what titles have a rent option and the rental price. You must come to the store and sign a rental agreement to rent a book for the semester.
