Faith Council

As an institution of higher education affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Grand View University honors faith and religious conversation with mutual respect among all people.  The University provides and promotes an environment of hospitality and mutual understanding which promotes the development of the whole person – mind, body, and spirit.  Faith groups which agree to abide by the spirit and guidelines contained within the GV Faith Life Covenant are welcome on this campus.  In order to promote and not to detract from this valued character of Grand View University, all Faith Life Clubs and Organizations, and the persons involved therein, agree to work within and hold each other accountable to the provisions of this Covenant.  This pledge is formally made at the beginning of each academic year by advisors and student leaders of each Faith Life Club or Organization.

Faith Council is made up of student representatives advisors for each club/org, and is directed by the Campus Pastor.  The group meets once a month before Viking Council to discuss upcoming events, any questions or concerns, and to have fun together.

Peer Ministry Leadership

Peer Ministry is ministry of the everyday; inviting someone, listening to a friend, helping a roommate with an issue, just being there for someone you care about.  Grand View Student Ministries invites you to join us as a peer minister or as someone who might need support from a peer.  You may email Angie Larson at alarson@grandview.edu to be connected with a trained Peer Minister or to inquire about receiving training and certification.

Church Connect

We believe that it is important to be involved in the body of Christ with people of all ages.  Our hope is that every student would become an active participant within a local church during their time at Grand View. The churches in our area can be dynamic and transformative communities where you can live out faith.  You may not find one exactly like the one you grew up in, but you may find that God has something new for you to learn about spiritual growth within the body of Christ.

If you are a church and would like to connect with Grand View please click HERE and fill out the form.
