Grand View Student Ministries exists to bless the students at Grand View with the love of Jesus Christ. We welcome people at all stages of faith - the searcher, the doubter, and the committed. Our mission is to engage your mind, body, and spirit. Through GV Student Ministries you'll be able to be who you are and become who you are called to be. Getting involved will help promote community while also supporting yourself and others to think critically about faith and life. There is a place for you in GV Student Ministries!

Small Groups and Bible Study

Bible Study
A weekly, student-led study of scripture. All people of all backgrounds are welcome.

Fellowship of Christians Athletes
Athletes gather every week for a devotional and community time. Things can get a little ridiculous but it is always fun and Christ-centered.

Viking Catholics
Catholics on campus get together every week for Bible study and to figure out times to attend Mass together.

Prayer

At certain times throughout the year, as well as every week in chapel, we take time to pray for each other, Grand View, and the world. We encourage you to pray with us.

Want prayer for something specific? Click the link below to submit a prayer request to the Campus Ministry Staff and we would love to pray for you. Submit prayer requests here.

Peer Ministry

Peer Ministry is ministry of the everyday; inviting someone, listening to a friend, helping a roommate with an issue, just being there for someone you care about.  Grand View Student Ministries invites you to join us as a peer minister or as someone who might need support from a peer.  You may email Angie Larson at alarson@grandview.edu to be connected with a trained Peer Minister or to inquire about receiving training and certification.

Church Connect

We believe that it is important to be involved in the body of Christ with people of all ages.  Our hope is that every student would become an active participant within a local church during their time at Grand View. The churches in our area can be dynamic and transformative communities where you can live out faith.  You may not find one exactly like the one you grew up in, but you may find that God has something new for you to learn about spiritual growth within the body of Christ.

If you are a church and would like to connect with Grand View please click HERE and fill out the form.

The Philip L. Hougen Scholarship
If you’re a member of an ELCA congregation, you may be eligible to apply for The Philip L. Hougen Campus Ministries Scholarship at Grand View.   Established in honor of former ELCA Southeast Iowa Synod Bishop Philip L. Hougen, this scholarship is awarded annually to approximately four applicants from ELCA congregations who have demonstrated dedication to ministry and who will be participating regularly in Grand View campus ministry.  The scholarship may award you between $500 and $1,500 toward your education.  The scholarship is renewable, based on fulfilling covenant requirements as well as maintaining or exceeding a 2.0 cumulative GPA.  You can apply for the Hougen Scholarship by filling out the application form and returning it to our Admissions Office by February 1.  You will also need to ask your pastor or your youth leader to fill out a reference.  Both forms can be found here.

EPIC
Educational Partners in Covenant  (EPIC) is a matching grant program between Lutheran congregations and Grand View. It's a means of encouraging Lutheran congregations to financially support their students. Grand View matches up to $500 per student per school year. Learn more HERE.
