Job Description:
The Iowa League of Cities is seeking a qualified professional to monitor, analyze and advocate for the interests of cities before the Legislature, the Governor’s office and state agencies. Law or advanced public policy degree preferred. Candidate should demonstrate relevant work experience as lobbyist representing public interest association, state agency or local government or similar public policy experience. The successful candidate must have experience or familiarity with state legislative process and knowledge of local government issues. Position requires the ability to analyze legislative policy; communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; coordinate the association’s advocacy efforts and to work effectively in a team environment. Starting salary is commensurate with education and experience. This position will remain open until filled with applicant review beginning November 19, 2012. EOE.
