Job Description:
Employees will be responsible for leading pollinating crews in our genetic corn research nursery for the 2013 season. Employees must have strong leadership capabilities, pay close attention to detail, and be able to work efficiently with minimal supervision. Employees will assist in the preparation of the nursery in the late spring and early summer months as well as assist with office/lab work as needed. Employees will work long hours during the pollination season and will be outdoors (approximately early July through mid/late August). Pollinating season requires employees to work seven days a week. Pollinating crews are made up of high school and college age young adults. Employees must be comfortable with and know how to interact with this age group.
Job Qualifications:
Although not required, any knowledge of, or experience in farming operations is beneficial. Although not required, any knowledge or experience having to do with teenagers and young adults is beneficial. Must have the ability to learn and improve on leadership capabilities and the overall operation of our department and company.
