Job Description:
The College of Science, Concordia University Texas, invites applications for Director of the School of Nursing/Assistant Dean of the College of Science. The successful applicant will direct the School of Nursing; interface with the professional health care community, the Advisory Board of the School, and potential donors; assist the Dean of the College of Science in evaluating nursing concerns within the context of the College, University and the larger campus community, and support the Mission of the University. The Director of the School of Nursing/Assistant Dean of the College of Science will direct the professional nursing education program in all its phases, including approval of teaching staff, selection of appropriate clinical sites, admission, progression, probation, dismissal of students, and enforcement of student policies. They will manage the budget for the nursing program in collaboration with the Dean of the College of Science The Director will be responsible for maintenance of nursing program, faculty, student, and curriculum records, as required and as needed. They will maintain and be able to provide evidence of faculty expertise and knowledge to teach curriculum content The Director will provide leadership in the development of policies and procedures integrating the School of Nursing into the College of Science and the University. They will also participate in the Texas Association of Deans and Directors of Nursing and other professional, related organizations/groups. The director will attend training, workshops and meetings of the Texas Board of Nursing (BON) as required or requested, including the earliest possible education workshop provided by BON related to education rules and the role and responsibilities of newly appointed deans/directors. The successful applicant will complete and submit the Texas Board of Nursing Educational Information Survey (NEPIS) and Compliance Audit (CANEP) by the required dates to the BON. There is a teaching load requirement of one 3 credit hour course per year.
Job Qualifications:
*Current license or privilege to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Texas. *Doctoral degree in nursing or related discipline. *Minimum of masters level in nursing. *Minimum of three years teaching experience in a professional nursing education program. Experience in BSN program preferred. *Minimum of one year leadership position in nursing education program. *Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities in administration.
