Job Description:
1. Actively hires and supervises support staff as assigned, evaluates performance, and arranges for assistance to support and professional staff as needed. The support staff is located in nine offices across the state. 2. Handles routine administrative detail for the Associate Executive Director. 3. Provides secretarial assistance to the Associate Executive Director. 4. Coordinates the application of the NEA UniServ Grant. 5. Coordinates UniServ Training Opportunities. 6. Assists the Associate Executive Director in planning and coordinating meetings and supervises other staff with meeting responsibilities. 7. Administrates the ISEA Executive Board LEAF program. 8. Maintains liaison with NEA Member Benefits staff and affiliated programs. 9. Coordinates special projects as assigned. 10. Assists Executive Board Committees as assigned. 11. Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
• Minimum of five years administrative experience. • Proficiency at an intermediate level in MS Office Applications with emphasis on Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. • Experience in supervision of multiple staff required. • Minimum of an AA degree required. • Ability and experience to independently coordinate and manage all functions in a fast-paced environment, make decisions, give directives, administer programs, and carry out directives. • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. • Good planning and organization skills; ability to prioritize and distribute work assignments. • Ability to work well under pressure, handle multiple tasks, and meet strict deadlines. • Excellent meeting planning skills. • Excellent interpersonal skills. • Excellent spelling, grammar, and proofing skills. • Experience and background in education, union, or non-profit organization preferred. • Some travel, which may include being away from home overnight, and after hours work (evenings & weekends) required. • Valid Iowa driver's license required.
