return

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has officially released the pairings for the 2011 Men's Soccer National Championship Opening Round. There will be 30 teams playing at 15 on-campus sites on Nov. 19.

The winners of the National Championship Opening Round games, as well as No. 4 Mobile (Ala.), will advance to the Final Site from Nov. 28 - Dec. 3 in Orange Beach, Ala.

This year's 31 teams include 24 automatic qualifiers (conferences/independent/unaffiliated champions) and seven at-large bids, which were determined based on the final official NAIA Men's Soccer Modified Ratings Percentage Index (MRPI).

No. 6 seed Grand View (16-2-2) will host unseeded MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.) (13-7-1) at Cownie Complex on Saturday, Nov. 19, in Des Moines.  The Vikings were ranked as the No. 9 team in the final NAIA Top 25 Poll.

The Vikings received an at-large bid to qualify for this year's NAIA Championship; MidAmerica Nazarene qualified as the Heart of America Athletic Conference tournament champion.

It is the seventh National Championship appearance for Grand View and the second for MidAmerica Nazarene.
