Nielsen Concert Series - Belin Quartet
October 15, 2018
Join us for the Nielsen Concert Series featuring the Belin Quartet on Monday, October 15 at 7 p.m. in Speed Lyceum, Grand View Student Center.
The Belin Quartet was founded in 1999 by David Belin (1928-1999) a prominent Des Moines attorney, civic leader, and philanthropist who had a tremendous impact on the city during the last half of the 20th century. A talented violinist himself, David Belin loved music. He also loved Des Moines, and with his trademark red bow tie, he was an ever-present supporter of music and the arts in the city. Belin envisioned a community with the opportunity to share in the joys of classical music, which is realized through the Belin Quartet.
The Belin Quartet consists of alternating violinists Julie Fox Henson, John Helmich, and Tracy Engman Finkelshteyn, violist Jonathan Sturm and cellist George Work. This performance includes the music of Mozart, Beethoven and Brahms.
Tickets $15 at the door; students $8 with ID.
