Originally from Santa Cruz, CA, Lupita learned to call Iowa her home. She started her education at Central College before transferring to Drake University. After graduating from Drake University, she spent two years providing trauma-informed counseling to multicultural populations across five different Iowa counties and building community partnerships. Lupita joined the Viking family in 2017 to focus on working to help students access higher education and reduce barriers to higher education. Her family consists of two beautiful long-haired cats, Mish and Franklin Francisco, and her partner. You will find them often trying new restaurants around town, or traveling to mountainous areas whenever possible.

Personal Interests
During Lupita's free time, she enjoys cooking for her family, gardening in the summer, and listening to podcasts and cuddling both of her long-haired cats (Mish and Frankie) in the winter time. Additionally, she keeps active by hiking, weightlifting, and playing soccer.
