Fall 2021 COVID-19 Planning
Grand View University is excited offer in-person classes for Fall 2021. We look forward to welcoming new and returning students to campus. Grand View will continue to work hard in monitoring the COVID-19 situation and making the health and safety of our students and campus community a top priority. We are grateful to the faculty, staff and students who helped maintain a safe and healthy learning environment during the 2020-21 academic year. We did not have a single case of COVID transmission in academic spaces like classrooms, labs, or the library.
As we did throughout 2020, we are continuing to follow CDC guidance for mask wearing. Their current guidance states that fully vaccinated people no longer need to wear a mask or physically distance in any setting, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules, and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance.
In Fall 2021, we will return to using the full capacity of our classrooms, which means that we do not need to impose the HyFlex course model on any courses.
- We expect full in-person class attendance, and instructors will have attendance policies.
We expect unvaccinated students and instructors to wear a mask while in class, but those who have been vaccinated do not need to wear a mask.
Students were allowed to register for INPER days for the fall in case the public health situation degrades and we do need to return to HyFlex, but in the absence of HyFlex, students will be expected to attend class in-person on all days.
Students with questions about classes should consult with their advisor or course instructor.
The NAIA and Grand View University are dedicated to ensuring the safety of all athletes. Please check gvvikings.com for updated information on scheduling and game day policies.
