Jane Triplett's Biography
Jane Triplett is dedicated to coaching, encouraging the aspirations, and developing the talents of budding (5th through 8th grade) student musicians in the Iowa City Community School District. She has devoted the past twelve years to serving as band director and instrumental music instructor for the District, and ensembles under her direction have received top ratings at statewide competitions. Born and raised in Eldora, Iowa, Ms. Triplett obtained her bachelor's and master's in Music Education from Iowa State University and the American Band College at Southern Oregon University, respectively.
In addition to her current focus, Ms. Triplett has enjoyed over 25 years of service as adjudicator for the Iowa High School Music Association, All State judge, and guest conductor for several honor bands across Iowa. As past member of the Southeast Iowa Bandmasters Association (SEIBA), she has held the offices of president, vice-president, commission committee chair, and mentorship chair. Ms. Triplett's affiliation with Iowa Bandmasters Association is no less committed; she holds dual positions as IBA President and Major Landers Scholarship chair. The Major Landers memorial scholarship assists a promising Iowa high school senior with financial need to prepare for a career in band music education at an Iowa college or university.
