Meet Our Campus Pastor's Staff
Russell Lackey, Sr. Campus Pastor
Starting in the spring of 2012, the Reverend Russell Lackey is the Senior Campus Pastor at Grand View. As campus pastor, he is responsible for organizing the university's chapel program, mentoring student ministry leaders, and encouraging every person in the Grand View community with the love of Christ. In addition, Russ is the Sr. Pastor at Luther Memorial Church.
Russ served Reformation Lutheran Church from 2001 until his appointment to Grand View. Russ has worked in youth ministry as a youth director, camp counselor, confirmation teacher, and resident assistant. He has also spoken at numerous mission, evangelism, and youth conferences.
Russ earned his bachelors degree from Westmont College in 1997 and his Masters in Divinity from Luther Serminary in 2001. He and his wife, Jamie, have three daughters.
Kate Glenney, Director of Student Ministries
In the fall of 2012, Kate Glenney joined Grand View as the Director of Student Ministries. As director she works with students, empowering their leadership in ministry and supporting them in their faith journeys. A major focus is overseeing Grand View's worship teams.
Kate is from Muscatine, Iowa. She has been a leadership institute mentor, completed a ministry internship at Riverside Lutheran Bible Camp, and led music service trips to Chicago and St. Louis. kate recently graduated from Wartburg College with a bachelors degree in religion and a minor in psychology.
Angie Larson, Director of Peer Ministry
Angie Larson is serving as Director of Peer Ministry Leadership at Grand View. As the director, she is responsible for overseeing, training, and equipping students trained in peer ministry as well as Grand View Hougen Scholars. Peer Ministry Leadership is a ministry of befriending, caring, listening, and inviting others.
Angie graduated from Grand View in 1999 with a bachelors degree in religion and human services. Grand View welcomed Angie back when they asked her to serve as the Interim Campus Pastor in the fall of 2011. Prior to that, Angie worked full-time in youth and family ministry in Clive, Iowa and North Cape, Wisconsin. She is a rostered Associate in Ministry through the ELCA and is currently seeking a Masters Degree in Child, Youth, and Family Ministry from Luther Seminary. Angie has spoken at various youth events, taught workshops, served on many community boards, and is a writer for the ELCA's Faith Lens Bible Study.
Angie and her husband Ryan have four children, Chase, Mackenzie, Sawyer, and Skyler; as well as two furry one, Bella (an English Mastiff) and Goober (an Australian Shepherd). Angie enjoys camping, running, volunteering, and spending time with her family.
