Job Description:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Gathers student-related information for/from the faculty as needed to maintain files or create reports as requested. Responsible for maintaining student files on plan of study progress records and reporting discrepancies with University and School of Nursing requirements, including immunizations and background checks. Communicates student registration information, course requirements, etc. each semester and processes student application materials for TX Board of Nursing for graduates. Oversees the implementation and administration of student competencies examinations including administering the Nurse Entrance Test as directed (i.e. ATI, TEAS V, etc.) and tracks and reports results. Maintains the School of Nursing website content. Processes and inputs HISC and CEC requests in coordination with faculty and program administration. Gathers and maintains Textbook Adoption lists for the School of Nursing and sends new adoptions to the Bookstore when required.
Job Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience High School Diploma 1-2 years experience providing program support, in a health care field preferred Experience in higher education preferred Demonstrated planning and organizational skills Ability to become competent in using Microsoft Office and other necessary computer tools Ability to navigate the Internet and use common search engines (Yahoo, MSN, Google, etc.) Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, manage administrative projects, and multi-task Ability to work with minimal direction and as part of a team Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing Ability to respond as instructed to Texas Board of Nursing policies and procedures Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively Ability to interact with all levels within the organization Ability to be detailed-oriented, i.e., to be detailed when entering data, writing and proofing materials Ability to accurately collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions Ability to maintain, under direction, accurate records tracking student and program progress.
