A message from the Career Center: Virtual Connections
In this time of COVID-19, we remain committed to supporting you in your recruitment goals, and we are thankful for your ongoing partnership. As we anticipate the 2020-2021 academic year, we are eager to launch our virtual career fair opportunities through Handshake, as well as introduce a new virtual webinar employer engagement series “Get To Know”. We are also utilizing all of our social media platforms (Facebook | Twitter | LinkedIn) to promote your opportunities and events. Please continue to post your openings via Handshake, as well as partner with us via social media, and virtual outlets.

Get to Know U of I Genetics
Get to Know: University of Iowa Healthcare – Iowa Institute of Human Genetics / Applying to Genetic Counseling Graduate Programs

Tuesday, August 4 | 2:00 p.m.| Virtual Event (Zoom)

The Grand View University Career Center is pleased to announce that the Iowa Institute of Human Genetics is hosting an informational event on the Future of Personalized Genomic Medicine: Applying to Genetic Counseling Graduate Programs. During this event, a panel of genetic counselors from around the state will speak about their experience applying to genetic counseling training programs, their daily activities, as well as their role in personalized genomic medicine. This opportunity is a great way for students to discuss first-hand the application process, job growth and ask questions in a small group setting.

Get to Know: Des Moines University Medicine & Health Sciences

Many Grand View graduates pursue their advanced degrees/doctoral studies in the Health Sciences at DMU.  We are grateful for this opportunity to promote their upcoming “Creating Opportunities: At A Glance” sessions.  Join a virtual overview of Des Moines University’s graduate programs! Creating Opportunities: At A Glance events present a virtual opportunity to learn more about DMU beyond what’s on the website. Get to Know: Mainstream Living Webinar

Wednesday, September 23 | Time: 1:00 p.m. | Virtual Event (Zoom)

Mainstream Living is committed to enhancing opportunities, creating success, and fulfilling dreams for our adults with disabilities and mental illness. We provide housing, medical, employment, and a variety of other supports in a number of locations in Central Iowa. Our Direct Support Professionals, who provide daily support to our adults in home and community based settings, are our highest need. This position is an opportunity to make a positive impact on someone's life, from ensuring dignity to empowering goal achievement. More details coming soon. Employer Networking Receptions

To align with 2019-2020 signature weeks at Grand View University, the Career Center will coordinate Employer Networking Events in the Fall during Global Vision Week (October 14-18), and the Spring during Vocation Week (March 30 – April 3).  Additionally, we will participate in all Iowa College Recruiting Network Pre-Select Interview Events, as well as hosting major specific mock interviews, and career development seminars throughout the year.  Please reach out to careers@grandview.edu to receive notification of events and collaboration opportunities.

Pre-Select Interviews on Campus

Schedule a Day to Interview Grand View Students

  • Fall interviews are generally conducted in October and November.
  • Spring interviews are arranged from February through mid-April.
  • Please plan at least four weeks in advance for campus interviews 
  • Contact the Grand View Career Center at (515) 263-2888 or email careers @ grandview.edu to schedule a recruiting visit.
  • The Career Center staff will publicize employer recruiting visits on our website and campus bulletin boards.
