Job Description:
GENERAL FUNCTION: Under the primary direction of the Program Manager, the Programs Coordinator’s primary function is to assist with the programming of Camp Friendship Resident Camp. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Responsible for direct supervision of assigned Program Leaders and evaluation of their job performance. Have an active role with staff orientation. Provide support for evening on-call and day to day responsibilities at camp. Manage the time off for program leaders. 2. Responsible for care, inventory and maintenance of equipment as assigned and compiling list of items required or buying these with approval of supervisor. 3. Lead daily program planning meetings to ensure all program leaders know what needs to be done each day. Will assign duties for program leaders to help with check in and check out. 4. Responsible for coordinating evening and all camp program schedules, including special events. Will work with program leaders to prepare, advertise and implement these. Will consider themes to provide variety of programs. 5. Responsible for observing program leaders in all programs, evaluating their performance and giving feedback. Will learn about the role of each program leader in order to assist them to provide quality programs to campers. 6. Will ensure that program leaders complete program work records and document ideas that have been successful or share areas that could be improved for future staff members. 7. Will lead program planning meetings twice weekly, distribute schedules as necessary maintain records of each week’s activities. Will ensure that weekly program binders contains all relevant programming information. 8. Develop and maintain good relationships with customers utilizing Friendship Ventures services as well as with staff members and volunteers. Assist in providing weekend and free time activity options for staff members. 9. Assist with maintaining related licensure and accreditation as it relates to services (i.e. ACA standards for Camp Accreditation). 10. Demonstrate a commitment to Friendship Ventures by conducting oneself in a professional manner so that others may be motivated to emulate goals, attitudes, and behavior. 11. Know and follow personnel policies of Friendship Ventures. 12. Assume all other duties and assignments as deemed appropriate by the Program Manager. PERFORMANCE GOALS AND ACCOUNTABILITY: *To develop and maintain quality relationships with staff members and volunteers. *To maintain a quality experience for the campers and staff. *To provide a variety of free time activities for the staff members. *To assist with staff orientation.
Job Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS AND/OR SKILLS: BS/BA or equivalent experience. Experience in the areas of staff supervision and working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Must demonstrate enthusiasm and ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities, parents, care providers and general community. Willingness to be a positive team member, good organizational skills, possess valid drivers license, ability to use or learn computer word processing and database systems.
