GV wins MCC Commissioner's Cup

return

The Commissioner's Cup honors all-around athletic excellence among MCC member schools. It is awarded to the institution with the highest cumulative score as determined by a rating system that includes points awarded at the end of the regular season of each championship sport sponsored by the MCC. Points are based on a scale awarding points per finishing position, with a bonus also awarded to conference tournament winners.

The 2010-11 year was highlighted by six regular season team championships (men's soccer, men's and women’s indoor track & field, men’s and women’s outdoor track & field, and men's golf). GV teams also won a conference tournament championship in men’s soccer. Two teams qualified for NAIA national championships, with men’s soccer advancing to the final eight and men’s golf placing sixth.
