Grand View Photographers Exhibit at the 2013 Iowa State Fair
Grand View students and alumni will be well represented at the 2013 Iowa State Fair Photography Salon. Stop by and see their work over the next couple of weeks.
Kelsey Maggard has two photographs accepted for the exhibit, and received a ribbon in the Color Things and Still Life class. Her print is displayed on the wall in the NW corner of the salon. This is the second year in a row Maggard has won an award.
Jordan Renzelman has two photos in the show, and Chelsea Delmott, Tiffany Holtgraves and Lindsay Montgomery each have one photograph displayed.
All five were members of the Creative Photo State Fair Photography class offered by Grand View in May.
Grand View alum Andrew Davis (Comm 2009) had a great year, placing second in the Black and White Things and Still Life class and earning an honorable mention in the Color Animals, Insects and Wildlife section.
Other Viking alumni who had prints accepted for display include David Benna and Leigh Nicole Creason, each with two photos in the show.
In addition, adjunct photography instructor Paula Maxheim had two images accepted.
This year 1157 photographers entered nearly 3700 photographs. Less than 50% of the photographers who entered had one or more photos accepted for the exhibit, just making the show this year is a huge accomplishment.
