Danish Artist, Jesper Just, to work with Grand View Art Students

In conjunction with the Des Moines Art Center exhibit, This is a Landscape of Desire, Danish video artist Jesper Just will be on campus Friday, March 7, between 9 am and 1 pm, to conduct a residency with Grand View art students.  Working with Just’s cinematic works and essays on desire and representation, students will participate in events both at the Art Center and on campus. Inspired by Just’s writing and art work, students are creating their own work in a variety of media.
Critique sessions will be in the Prairie Meadows Gallery, 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m., Friday, March 7. These critiques are open to the Grand View community.  All are welcome to observe the conversation between student and artist, Jesper Just.
Just’s exhibit at the Des Moines Art Center runs from March 7 — May 25, 2014.  An Artist talk (March 4, 6:30pm) and Preview party (March 6, Admission: $5; Members FREE, 6-7:30pm) will precede the opening of the exhibition.
Support for the Des Moines Art Center's presentation of this exhibition is provided by Marty Gross and Grand View University – The Andreasen Fund for Danish Cultural Studies.
