Celebrate Vocation Week-Final Days

This week is about YOU.

Transforming Lives: Celebrate Vocation week wraps up with a bang today and into the weekend. Make sure to pay attention to these items:
•  Join us for a lunch and learn at 12:00 pm in Rasmussen 217 and share in an interesting and casual discussion of how the national debate over the minimum wage connects to Grand View’s commitment to vocation and educating of the whole person. Pizzas and drinks will be provided. Discussion moderators are Professor Steve Snyder and Grand View Trustee Eric Burmeister.
•  Check out this 90-second video in which Chase Carlson, Viking Council president and a senior in business administration, talks about his transformation as a leader and wanting to give back, especially to the people of Ghana.
•  This is it! Your last chance to bid on the items on our Gifted Vikings auction site.  Who will be the lucky bidder to actually get Robin Trimble White’s Scotcharoos or the meal in President Henning’s home? It is not too late to be the winner. The auction closes TODAY at 3:00 pm.
•  Honors Convocation embodies the essence of Celebrate Vocation week. All University Honors Convocation will be held in Sisam Arena from 3:30-4:15 pm. These honors include Deans list, Presidents list, permanent members of the Grand View Honor Society, Who’s Who, NAIA Scholar Athletes, Champions of Character, Viking Council Awards, Viking Service Award, and Faculty awards.
•  Departmental Honors will be awarded in rooms around campus immediately following the convocation from 4:15-5:30 pm. Food will be provided!
•  The electronic unveiling of Alt, Grand View’s student art/communication journal, will occur at 4:30 pm in Rasmussen’s Art Gallery.
—Saturday March 29, 2014—
•  Honor Society Induction and Award Ceremony will be held from 2:00-3:30 pm in Sisam Arena. This includes the induction and senior recognition for Alpha Chi, Alpha Sigma Lambda, Phi Eta Sigma, Sigma Tau Delta and Theta Alpha Kappa.
—Sunday March 30, 2014—
•  The worship service at Luther Memorial Church will focus on vocation. Join us at 10:00 am.
•  The home concert following the spring break tour will put the icing on the cake that has been Transforming Lives: Celebrate Vocation week. What a special way to celebrate how we give back and use our passions and gifts to help others than by enjoying the superb Grand View choir program. Luther Memorial Church, beginning at 3:00 pm
