Grand View Photographers Exhibit at the 2014 Iowa State Fair
Three Grand View photography students have won ribbons at the 2014 Iowa State Fair Photography Salon. All three received Honorable Mention ribbons. Stacy Keely won hers in the Things and Still Life class, Theresa Macdonald was honored in the Plant, Flowers and Trees category and Krister Strandskov picked up his in the My Ansel Adams theme class. Macdonald had a second image selected for the exhibit in the People category. All photographs in this year’s competition were in Black in White as a salute of world famous photographer Ansel Adams
Former Grand View student David Benna of Ames placed third in the HDR class. Adjunct Professors Judith Eastburn and Paula Maxheim also had photos accepted for the exhibit. Two of Eastburn’s entries received Honorable Mention ribbons.
This year 1048 photographers entered nearly 3874 photographs. 22% of the entries were accepted for the show. Less than 50% of the photographers who entered had photos accepted for the exhibit.
The Photography Salon is located on the 3rd floor of the newly air conditioned Cultural Center building at the eastern end of the fairground. Stop by and see their work over the next couple of weeks.
