Grand View Art & Design Students Design Assign Final Culmination Event with AIGA Iowa

Join Grand View University in celebrating the culmination of the inaugural AIGA Iowa Design Assign with a gala exhibition and presentations.

6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Jasper Winery, 2400 George Flagg Parkway, Des Moines, IA, 50321
Open to the public. FREE to attend. (RSVPs required please https://www.eiseverywhere.com/ehome/index.php?eventid=48426)

As part of the national AIGA Design for Good initiative, AIGA Iowa partnered area creatives with non-profit organizations of the greater Des Moines area through Design Assign – an initiative to benefit the world, our country and our communities. Twelve designers of various emphases coordinated with seven area non-profits over a period of three months. The projects that have resulted – identity systems, posters, websites, social media art work, invitations, etc. -- will help raise awareness and funds for their causes.

Grand View University Art & Design students in the Interactive Design IV class collaborated with the Graphic Design V students to create a visual identity system and are redesigning and developing a full content-management system for the Children and Families Urban Ministries (CFUM) website. They are also planning a service learning project by volunteering with CFUM this semester.

6-7 p.m. Networking & social hour (light appetizers and cash bar available)
7-8 p.m. Exhibition and demonstration of Design Assign projects
8-9 p.m. Presentation by Doug Powell, founder of Design for Good & National AIGA President

We welcome all AIGA members, non-members, non-profit organizations and everyone interested in design for the greater good to join us at Jasper Winery for this great event.

About Design for Good:
AIGA's Design for Good is a platform to build and sustain the implementation of design thinking for social change. This platform creates opportunities for designers to build their practice, their network and their visibility. Design for Good recognizes the wide range of designers’ work and leadership in social change, which benefits the world, our country and our communities.

Design for Good supports and sustains designers who play a catalytic role in communities through projects that create positive social impact. By connecting and empowering designers through online networking tools, inspirational stories, chapter events, training, national advocacy and promotion, Design for Good serves as a powerful resource for designers who wish to work in this area and a beacon for designers leading the charge.
