Under general supervision, this entry-level position focuses on applying/developing knowledge of tax and accounting principles for income taxes, preparing the federal and state income tax returns, quarterly estimated tax payments, monthly tax provisions and associated supporting work papers for the separate affiliated groups and partnerships. Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Function) Participates as a member of the compliance team to help to prepare federal and state income tax returns. Helps to prepare United States monthly tax provisions including the associated tax account roll forward schedules and performs other tax accounting procedures. Assists in the preparation of quarterly federal and state income tax estimated payments. Researches fundamental tax questions as needed. Provide technical input to assist in development of project planning. Assist the tax accountant or senior tax accountant as needed. Performs additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business. Advanced degree in one of these areas preferred. Working knowledge of tax law and procedures, tax research skills, familiarity with various tax returns and schedules. Strong accounting and financial statement knowledge. Strong computer software skills. Proven effective oral and written communication skills. Effective interpersonal, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently. Extended work hours will be required, especially during the tax compliance filing process or other critical times.
