Job Description:
The Blank Park Zoo is looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Animal Presenter to be a part of the education department. Animal Presenters work with a collection of animals in the education department to educate zoo guests about wildlife and travel to programs around the state. Responsibilities include: •Develops presentations for Zoo visitors •Assists with all aspects of care for the education animals, including handling of the animals and feeding/cleaning of enclosures •Conducts presentations throughout the day for Zoo visitors •Undertakes special projects and duties as assigned
Job Qualifications:
Qualified applicants will have experience with public speaking and knowledge of wildlife and endangered species. Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years old and preference will be given to applicants currently enrolled in, or graduated from a college or university majoring in education, environmental interpretation, theater, biology, zoology, psychology or related field. Animal handling is a requirement. Position will begin in May and ends in August. There may be opportunity for some shifts in September and October. Weekends are required.
