Job Description:
Must be able to work SATURDAYS, SUNDAYS, and HOLIDAYS JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Water Production Supervisor of Operations, on weekends and holidays collects field and treatment plant samples, and performs various analyses in the field of a routine nature such as coliform analyses, softening plant titrations and basic wet chemistry. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Under the supervision of the Supervisor of Operations, performs sample collection and various analyses of a routine nature. • Performs various water analysis such as determining alkalinity, hardness, pH, turbidity, odors, HPC, sludge concentration and levels of iron, manganese, chlorine residuals, ammonia etc. • Communicates results of water analysis to Control Center operator and supervisor. • Tours facilities and reports abnormal conditions or operations to the control center. • Logs samples and accurately enters data into the excel spreadsheets. • Occasionally collects surface water samples from rivers, ponds, and lakes. • Gathers samples for bacterial analysis as needed. • Operates company vehicles and other work equipment in a safe manner with required PPE when necessary. • Works with minimum supervision. • Completes job assignments in a safe, clean, and orderly manner. • Performs other duties of a similar nature
Job Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSTO TAKE ASSESSMENTS: Education: High school diploma or equivalent with High School coursework in basic science. Experience: None required. Licenses/Certifications: Valid Iowa driver’s license with a good driving record.
