Blue: a play for young audiences!

October 16, 2023

The Grand View Viking Theatre is excited to present the first show of our 2023-24 season... Blue: a play for young audiences! Performances will be held on Saturday, October 21 and Sunday, October 22 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Inky Blue and Sparkly Blue are very happy living in their totally blue world, eating their blue cereal, sorting their blue laundry, playing blue games and singing blue songs, until one day a RED sock appears in their laundry and turns their blue world upside down. Inky and Sparkly have different ideas about how to deal with the invading color. Should RED go straight into the trash? Should it be explored and accepted? Discover what happens in this play filled with clowning, humor, sweetness, and audience engagement!

Kristin Larson, Professor and Chair of Theatre Arts and Speech, says "During the week before the community performances, approximately 1400 elementary school students will visit our campus during the day to enjoy a free performance of BLUE! Sharing the joy and magic of theatre with young students in our neighborhood and surrounding areas is one of the most significant and impactful things Grand View Theatre Arts offers to our community each year."

House opens 30 minutes prior to the start of the performance. The Grand View Viking Theatre is an open seating venue, so come early to snag a good seat for the whole family! Join the Guest List.
