The Grand View University Music Department is pleased to welcome percussionist Adam Groh to perform his percussion recital. Adam is an assistant professor of percussion at Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa, where he oversees all aspects of the percussion program, serves as Chair of the Division of Visual and Performing Arts, and holds the Dwight and Ruth Vredenburg Endowed Chair in Music. He received his Doctorate of Musical Arts in percussion performance from the University of Texas at Austin, holds a master’s degree in percussion performance from Florida State University, and a bachelor’s degree in music from Truman State University. His primary teachers include: Dr. Thomas Burritt, Dr. John W. Parks IV, Dr. Michael Bump, and Will James of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. He is a proud endorser of Pearl Drums/Adams Musical Instruments and Innovative Percussion sticks and mallets who provided financial support for the Guest Recital.
