Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Web Developer to join our Web Team in building and maintaining the front and operations ends of our various websites. You will become an integral part of redesigning the overall layout and functionality of our main website, using your expertise to ensure optimization and functionality throughout. You will also work on our various e-commerce websites, including the enhancement of layouts and web-based applications. A successful candidate will possess a fine attention to detail, as well as strong organizational and time management skills. Must thrive in a fast-paced environment, and have demonstrated expertise in blending creative design elements and technical coding to bring user-friendly and intuitive e-commerce websites to life. Essential duties include, but are not limited to: •Develop, maintain, enhance, and test custom e-commerce websites, SQL databases, etc. •Develop user-friendly and intuitive web enabled front and back-ends. •Create strong web application security. •Work with Web Graphic Designer and Marketing Manager to create effective and engaging designs and layouts. •Participate in client interactions to develop websites that achieve clients’ goals on time. •Work cooperatively with key team members, clients, and vendors. •Proofread, compare, and verify the accuracy of all details such as font type, size, color, copy, and logo specifications for all jobs assigned. •Collaborate with the Marketing and Web Teams to ensure the content achieves business goals and supports the online experience. •Consult with Marketing and Web Teams on web content planning and develop/maintain the master content calendar to facilitate on-time delivery. •Provide technical support to internal personnel. •Keep current with emerging web technologies through relevant blogs, industry research and social media. •Perform other duties and special projects, as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
Qualifications Education/Experience: •Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field OR equivalent experience. •2+ years experience developing web-based applications. •Prior experience in B2B e-Commerce or retail industries preferred. Required Knowledge/Skills •A strong working knowledge of ASP.NET / VB.NET / C# / ADO.NET Framework 4.0. •Experience with SQL databases •Comprehensive development skills in JavaScript / JQuery / AJAX. •Ability to write code using CSS / HTML / XHTML. •Proven experience using XML / Web Service Technologies / SOAP. •Working knowledge of web servers. •Basic working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop (required), Adobe Illustrator (preferred). •Online portfolio displaying strong web development skills. •Must be able to build and maintain websites, web applications, and shopping carts. •Strong software development skills, including design, testing, deployment, and support. •Demonstrated strong understanding of user interface/user experience design. •Experience with technologies at multiple levels of the architecture, including user interface, applications, database, security, and network. •Mobile web layout/interface experience, preferred. •Good understanding of current internet technologies. •Familiarity with all common web browsers (IE, Firefox, Safari, Chrome). •Strong problem solving/code conceptualizing skills and an intuitive nature. •Fine attention to detail and good code proofing skills—you excel at spotting code errors and performance pitfalls. •Ability to develop content that supports objectives with minimal direction. •Capacity to work in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment. •Ability to juggle multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines while paying impeccable attention to detail. •Excellent time management and organizational skills, with ability to be flexible as project and management needs change, all while balancing competing demands. •Professionalism in all aspects of daily tasks.
