Theatre Arts Scholarship Auditions

Location: Viking Theatre

Check in is located at the Viking Theatre in the Henning Student Center at 2811 E 14th Street, Des Moines, Iowa 50316. We will begin holding auditions at 2:00 p.m. and will continue until all attendees have completed their audition. You are free to leave once your audition is finished.

If you are participating in our scholarship day event, please report to the Viking Theatre at the conclusion of the event for your audition.

Grand View Theatre Arts is open to all students on campus. So, theatre scholarships are open not only to those who decide to major or minor in Theatre Arts, but to all students with a passion for the art who want to be involved!

The Interview: This is the most important part of our time together! We want to know about your interest in theatre and how you would like to grow as a theatre artist at Grand View.

Are You Interested in Design/Technical Areas? If you have them, please bring any photos from productions in which your design or technical contributions were showcased. If you have a resume listing your theatre experience, please bring a copy. Photos and resume are not required, however! If you have a passion for design or technical areas of theatre, come prepared to talk about your aspirations and interests.

Are You Interested in Performance? If you have a monologue (no longer than 2 minutes) that showcases your talent, we hope that you will perform it for us! You are also encouraged to bring a resume listing your experience. There may also be time to share photo highlights from roles you have played, if you'd like to share. Monologue and resume are not required, however! If you have a passion for performance, come prepared to talk about your aspirations and interests.

If you have talents in both performance and design/production, please feel free to share that with us during the interview.
