Scott joined Grand View after 20 years working in professional sports, including 16 years with the NFL's Arizona Cardinals, in Tempe, Arizona. He began his career in Minor League Baseball and hockey. He earned his doctorate in Sport Management and Leadership while continuing his full-time duties with the Cardinals so that he would later have the opportunity to work with students interested in a career in sports, and share with them some practical insight into the business of sports. Scott teaches graduate and undergraduate Sport Management courses and enjoys sharing his professional experiences with students in the classroom to help them understand applications of course content.

Research & Accomplishments

Scott has presented research at the North American Society for Sport Management (NASSM) annual conference. His research interests cover a variety of sport-related issues, including internship communication and outcomes, diversity and inclusion in sport, and brand-related outcomes of corporate social responsibility and marketing initiatives.
