Dream to Teach Scholarship Student Application Form
Applicants must apply for the scholarship and submit an essay along with two letters of recommendation by March 1, 2026. These may be from a high school counselor, teacher or community leader, however, one should be from a Dream to Teach Coordinator OR a Dream to Teach mentor.
The Grand View University Dream to Teach Scholarship is offered as a partnership with the Des Moines Public School’s Dream to Teach program which supports a promising student who has an interest in becoming a teacher. This scholarship awards full tuition plus the following fees: technology, student activity. It will also cover room charges and the resident activity fee to live in Knudsen or Nielsen Hall if living on campus.
- Active participation in the DMPS ‘Dream to Teach’ program
- Must be admitted to Grand View in a Pre-Education academic program
- High school GPA of 3.25 or higher
- Must plan to enroll as a full-time day student
- Must be eligible to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid
Several other factors will be considered in the selection of the scholarship recipient, including GPA, ACT or SAT composite and sub-scores, and academic rigor of coursework.
The scholarship is renewable for up to four years if the recipient maintains full-time day enrollment in an Education academic program at Grand View University and good academic standing, including maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and an absence of any disciplinary action.
