Grand View University Expands Communication Program with New Concentrations and Minor
February 5, 2026
Beginning in Fall 2026, Grand View University will expand its Communication program with two new concentrations, Media Production and Social Media Management, and a new minor in Social Media Management, giving students more options to customize their academic path and prepare for careers in today’s digital and media driven world.
The Communication program at Grand View is designed to prepare students for careers in media, marketing, public relations and related communication fields. The newly approved curriculum creates additional opportunities for students to specialize in areas that reflect current industry needs and emerging career paths.
Beginning in Fall 2026, students pursuing a Communication major will be able to choose one of two new concentration options. The Media Production concentration is designed for students who want to develop creative and technical skills in video, audio and multimedia storytelling. The Social Media Management concentration focuses on content creation, platform strategy, analytics and digital engagement.
These new concentration options provide students with more focused coursework and hands-on experiences that align with today’s media and communication professions.
In addition to the new concentrations within the major, Grand View will introduce a Social Media Management minor. This minor is open to students across campus who are interested in building skills in digital communication, audience engagement, content strategy and social media analytics. The minor supports students seeking careers in branding, marketing, public relations and digital communication.
