Rev. Dr. Mark Mattes, professor of theology and philosophy at Grand View, recently had an article published in the fall edition of the journal Word and World. The article, “A Lutheran Case for Evangelism,” discusses doing the work of an evangelist and what we are to make of that.

Because of the “baggage” that the term evangelism carries with it, some have rejected it altogether. But sharing the gospel, the good news, is the central calling of every Christian, and the deep need of modern people—even those who do not know it. The Lutheran tradition has a rich history of evangelism, and theological tools to assist us in “telling the story.” Read more.
