New Members Elected to Board of Trustees

Three new members have joined the Grand View University Board of Trustees: Don Coffin, David Stark and Joleen Workman.
Don Coffin is Chief Executive Officer and President at Bankers Trust, a position he assumed in January 2018.
Prior to being named CEO and President, Don served as Chief Lending Officer where he managed an experienced
team of lenders with a total loan portfolio exceeding $3.5 billion. He joined Bankers Trust in October 2008, bringing
with him 25 years of commercial banking experience. Don is active in a number of community organizations, including Easter Seals Iowa, where he is President of the Foundation Board. He serves on the boards of the Greater Des Moines Partnership, Iowa Bankers Mortgage Corporation, Blank Children’s Hospital, Iowa Business Growth, United Way of Central Iowa, Catholic Foundation of Southwest Iowa, UNI Foundation, and is a member of the Bishop’s Council of the Diocese of Des Moines. Don serves as Co-Chair of the Builders Circle for the Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity and Club Pathways Campaign Chair for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa.
David Stark joined UnityPoint Health - Des Moines in 1996, and is an Iowa native. He currently serves as President and Chief Executive Officer for UnityPoint Health - Des Moines. He received his undergraduate degree from Iowa State University in Management and his Master’s in Healthcare Administration from the University of Iowa. Stark is a
Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, serves on the American Heart Association Board, the Iowa Hospital Association Board, Greater Des Moines Partnership Board, Principal Charity Classic Board, Iowa Public Television Foundation Board, a member of Rotary and is a graduate of the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute.
Joleen Workman is Vice President, Customer Care, Retirement & Income Solutions at Principal Financial Group in Des Moines. Workman leads the customer care teams for all retirement plan customers. A recognized industry expert, Joleen not only shares her insight with customers, but also with national media outlets. She frequently comments on topics and trends including retirement readiness, financial wellness and savings. With more than 25 years of experience, Joleen has led several marketing and customer-facing teams where she uses her expertise to shape and transform customer experiences. She has a business administration degree from the University of Northern Iowa.
