Professor Ahmadu A. Baba-Singhri Presents at USDA

Professor Ahmadu A. Baba-Singhri presented at the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to mark the Black History Month. He represented the Human Rights Commission on the Status of African American, Feb. 1, 2018. 

The focus of his presentation is the role of blacks in the development of Agriculture and Agricultural products in the United States and beyond, "Up from Slavery". The presentation will also focus on the need for the USDA to encourage organic food products by empowering individuals involved in the trade, and make the food products less expensive, and more accessible to the Black communities, especially, the poor, in an effort to reduce nutrition related health problems such as diabetes. The presentation will also touch on the World Food Prize and the role it plays in Africa and how they could effectively help fight poverty by focusing on methods of food storage and national security, through community and youth involvements..
