Grand View University Fully Accredited by the CAATE
April 23, 2019
Grand View University is pleased to announce that the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) has granted the Athletic Training Program 5 years of initial accreditation. The program will have its next comprehensive review during the 2023-2024 academic year.
Grand View’s Master of Science in Athletic Training began with a Fall 2017 cohort. The Departments of Kinesiology and Health Promotion and Athletic Training worked hard to develop a strong cutting edge program at the graduate level, meeting the requirements by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education, whereby all athletic training programs will move to the graduate level by Fall 2022.
“The CAATE appreciates the work and dedication required to obtain accreditation for your Athletic Training Program and the significant achievement it represents,” says LesLee Taylor, President of CAATE. “The CAATE recognizes the faculty, staff, and administrators’ commitment to the advancement of Athletic Training Education, and your dedication to the preparation of qualified Athletic Training professionals.”
Christopher Viesselman, Program Director, Master of Science in Athletic Training and Associate Professor of Athletic Training, reflects. “We are very excited to announce the CAATE accreditation of our Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT). It was the culmination of several years of planning, development and hard work. We couldn’t have achieved it without all of the incredible Grand View University faculty, staff, and students that have supported us since the inception of the program. We are also grateful to all of our community partners that provide students with unbelievable athletic training experiences. We are thrilled to be rewarded for all of our hard work and it was just in time to celebrate the graduation of the first MSAT class of students. We can’t wait to see where we go next!”
