June 29, 2018
Grand View senior Kyle Boulanger has been selected as the recipient of the $1,000 scholarship offered through Grand View’s National Alumni Council for the 2018-19 academic year. Kyle is a Biochemistry major from Waukee, Iowa. This scholarship, established in 2013 by Grand View University’s National Alumni Council (NAC), is designed to assist students in reaching their educational goals. It is the donors’ hope that the recipients of this scholarship will seek to better their lives, and be positive role models for others as they work to improve their communities.
“I’m honored to receive a scholarship from Grand View’s National Alumni Council for the upcoming school year,” Kyle says. “It means a lot to be recognized by such an awesome group of individuals, and I’m very thankful for their financial generosity. Paying for a college education isn’t cheap, and I appreciate every penny.”
This summer Kyle will be conducting research at Johns Hopkins University in the Institute for Cell Engineering. In Dr. Miroslaw Janowski’s Lab, he’ll be working on developing new routes for stem cell delivery to the brain, which will eventually allow for treatment of many different brain diseases. After Kyle graduates from Grand View, he hopes to further his education by obtaining either a PhD or both an MD and a PhD, eventually starting a career in patient centered research.
